Launched in 1990, JICREG (the Joint Industry Committee for REGional press research) has revolutionised the way in which regional newspaper advertising is planned, bought and sold. It has become the main currency used by advertisers, agencies, regional press publishers and their sales houses.
Long-time consultants to JICREG, AdWeb hosts their online database and wrote the original JIC-IN-A-BOX PC software, allowing media planners to generate demographic newspaper readership reports at postcode sector level. In 2000, AdWeb launched a fully-featured web-based version of JIC-IN-A-BOX, which is heavily used within the industry.
AdWeb is currently developing JICREG's new web-based survey input system to capture and verify data for entry to the JICREG database and for subsequent use as input for the JICREG readership modelling process.
